was born in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1967. She began her training in classical ballet in Paris in 1972. After returning to Indonesia with her parents in 1974, she was taught classical ballet by Farida Oetoyo and received instruction in traditional Indonesian dances from Bali, West, Central and East Jawa, Sumatra, Sulawesi and Jaipong from various teachers. In 1989, she went to the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen to study dance and became a member of the Folkwang Tanzstudio in 1993. In 1994, she joined the ensemble of the Stadttheater Bremen under the artistic direction of Susanne Linke and Urs Dietrich. Since 2000, she has been a member of the ensemble at the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, where she has also been working as a choreographic assistant and rehearsal director since 2020. She contributed to restagings of Pina Bausch’s repertoire by external companies in collaboration with the Pina Bausch Foundation, most recently on The Rite of Spring with dancers from African countries who were specially cast for the project (a Pina Bausch Foundation project in cooperation with the École des Sables, Senegal, and Sadler's Wells Theatre in London). She also develops her own solos and gives workshops in various cities in Germany, France and Indonesia.
