Alexander López Guerra

is a Peruvian dancer born in Lima in 1995. His first contact with dance was through hip hop. Later on he received his training in ballet and contemporary dance at the Escuela de Ballet San Marcos in Lima, Perú. After graduating, he danced with the Ballet San Marcos under the direction of Vera Stastny and with the Cuban choreographer Pepe Hevia.

His curiosity about choreography took him to Barcelona, Spain, to study at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza del Institut del Teatre. A year later, he joined the young company IT Dansa under the direction of Catherine Allard. During his career he has performed works by Crystal Pite, Akram Khan, Alexander Ekman and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, among others.

He has been a member of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch since the beginning of the 2020/2021 season.
