Originally from Berlin, Milan studied dance in the Netherlands, graduating from ArtEZ University of the Arts with a bachelor in dance making. During his last year of study, Milan started working at Bern Ballet in Switzerland under the direction of Estefania Miranda, remaining there for four years. He has been a member of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch since August 2017, performing in numerous pieces from Pina Bausch’s repertoire, as well as in the company’s new creations.
Milan has worked with choreographers including Dimitris Papaioannou, Boris Charmatz, Felix Landerer, Club Guy and Roni, Rainer Behr, Yumin Yang, Amos Ben-Tal, Jeori Dubbe, Overhead Project and Etienne Bèchard.
In addition to his work with the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, Milan is part of the Circle of Guides at the ArtEZ bachelor of dance programme, where he mentors 4th-year graduates while they are entering the professional dance sector. Furthermore, he is a faculty member at the Dance Italia Summer Intensive and a member of dancersconnect, a movement of engaged artists envisioning and creating the future of dance.
Milan’s other passion is photography. He creates his own works and also photographs for the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, capturing his colleagues during rehearsals and on stage when he is not performing himself. His photos have been published in newspapers and used for programmes, posters, social media, websites and books.
